01 About Jen Seng Medical Hall

Jen Seng Medical Hall (“Jen Seng”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is a family-owned Traditional Chinese Medicine business established in 1993, located at Blk 264 Serangoon Central, #01-231, Singapore 550264. We sell traditional Chinese herbal remedies, tonics, supplements, dried herbs, and related wellness products through our physical store and, from 2024, through our online store at jensengtcm.com.

02 Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using our website, creating an account, or placing an order, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age (or have the consent of a parent/guardian), and that you accept and agree to these Terms & Conditions in full.

These terms apply to all visitors, users, and customers of jensengtcm.com. Use of this site is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference.

03 Products, Descriptions & TCM Health Claims

We make every effort to display product information, ingredients, and descriptions as accurately as possible. Products sold on our website include traditional Chinese herbs, herbal soup ingredients, dried seafood, tonics, supplements (including bird’s nest, ginseng, and cordyceps), confinement care herbs, and medicated wellness products.

Nature of TCM Products

Products sold by Jen Seng Medical Hall are traditional herbal and wellness products. They are not registered pharmaceutical drugs or medical devices as defined under the Medicines Act or Health Products Act of Singapore unless otherwise stated.

Descriptions, traditional uses, and wellness benefits attributed to our products are based on Traditional Chinese Medicine principles and cultural practices that have been used for generations. These are not intended to constitute medical claims, diagnoses, or treatment of any medical condition under modern medical standards.

Regulatory Compliance

Certain products sold by Jen Seng may be classified as Chinese Proprietary Medicines (CPMs), health supplements, or other regulated health products under the Health Sciences Authority (HSA) of Singapore. Where applicable, such products are notified or registered with the HSA as required.

Customers should review the product label, ingredients, and any accompanying documentation before purchase and use. If you have queries about the regulatory status of a specific product, please contact us directly before ordering.

We strongly recommend that customers with existing medical conditions, those on prescription medication, pregnant or breastfeeding women, and elderly individuals consult a qualified TCM practitioner or medical professional before purchasing or consuming any herbal product. Allergen & Ingredient Information

Our products may contain herbs, dried ingredients, and natural compounds that could trigger allergic reactions in sensitive individuals. Full ingredient information is provided on each product page and on product packaging where available. Customers are responsible for reviewing ingredients prior to purchase and use.

Product Availability

All products are subject to availability. Seasonal herbs and premium items such as ginseng and bird’s nest may be subject to supply constraints. We reserve the right to discontinue any product without prior notice and will notify you promptly if an ordered item becomes unavailable.

04 Pricing & Payment

All prices displayed on jensengtcm.com are in Singapore Dollars (SGD) and are inclusive of applicable Goods and Services Tax (GST) unless otherwise stated.

Payment Methods

We accept the payment methods listed at checkout. Full payment is required at the time of placing an order. We reserve the right to cancel any order where payment is not successfully processed.

Pricing & Promotions

Prices are subject to change without notice, particularly for premium and seasonal products such as ginseng, bird’s nest, and cordyceps, whose market prices may fluctuate. The price applicable to your order is confirmed at the point of checkout. Promotional pricing and discount codes are subject to their own validity periods and terms.

05 Orders & Contract Formation

Placing an order on jensengtcm.com constitutes an offer to purchase. A binding contract is formed only when we send you an order confirmation. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order for reasons including:

Product unavailability or out-of-stock status
Errors in pricing or product descriptions
Payment failure or suspected fraudulent activity
Inability to deliver to your specified location

If we cancel an order after payment has been received, a full refund will be issued within a reasonable timeframe.

06 Delivery & Shipping

We deliver within Singapore. Delivery fees, minimum order thresholds for free delivery, and estimated delivery timeframes are displayed at checkout and may be updated from time to time.

Delivery Timelines

We aim to process and despatch orders within the timeframe stated on our website. Delivery timelines are estimates and not guaranteed. We are not responsible for delays caused by third-party couriers, public holidays, or circumstances outside our control.

Perishable & Premium Items

Some products — including fresh or chilled bird’s nest and certain premium herbs — may require careful handling. Where applicable, we will communicate special delivery requirements at the time of order. We are not liable for product quality if delivery instructions are not followed upon receipt.

Delivery Failure

If delivery fails due to an incorrect address or recipient unavailability, re-delivery charges may apply. Risk of loss and title pass to you upon successful delivery to your specified address.

07 Returns, Refunds & Exchanges

As we sell health and wellness products, our returns policy reflects both consumer protection standards and the nature of our products. This policy is consistent with the Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act (Cap. 52A) of Singapore.

Eligible Returns

We accept returns for items that are:

Defective, damaged upon arrival, or incorrectly supplied
Reported to us within 7 days of the delivery date
In original, unopened condition with all packaging and labelling intact

Non-Returnable Items

The following are not eligible for return:

Opened or partially used herbal products, loose herbs, or tonics
Perishable items including fresh bird’s nest or chilled products
Custom or personalised herbal packages prepared to your specifications
Products purchased on final sale or clearance
Products not purchased directly from jensengtcm.com

Confinement & Sensitive Health Products

Confinement care herb sets and packages are prepared for specific postnatal use and cannot be returned once the seal has been broken, due to hygiene and health safety considerations.

How to Request a Return

Contact us within 7 days of delivery at jensengtcm.com/contact-us or call +65 6284 6703, providing your order number, a description of the issue, and photographs where applicable. We will respond within 3 business days.

Refunds

Approved refunds will be processed to the original payment method within 7–14 business days. Shipping fees are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error.

08 Health, Safety & Customer Responsibility

Jen Seng Medical Hall sells traditional herbal and wellness products. By purchasing from us, you acknowledge and agree that:

You have reviewed the product description and ingredient information prior to purchase.
You are responsible for determining the suitability of any product for your individual health needs, condition, age, or circumstance.
You will follow any preparation, dosage, or usage instructions provided with the product.
You will seek advice from a qualified TCM practitioner or medical professional where appropriate, and before giving any herbal product to a child, elderly person, or individual with a medical condition.
You will discontinue use immediately if you experience any adverse reaction and seek appropriate medical attention.

Jen Seng Medical Hall is not responsible for adverse reactions or health outcomes resulting from use of our products inconsistent with product instructions, or arising from failure to disclose existing health conditions or medication use to a qualified practitioner prior to consumption.

09 Confinement Care Products

We offer a range of traditional Chinese postnatal (confinement) herbal products, including confinement herb sets, tonics, soups, and related items designed for use in the postnatal recovery period.

These products are based on traditional TCM confinement practices and are not intended as medical treatment. We strongly recommend that postnatal individuals consult their gynaecologist or midwife, as well as a qualified TCM practitioner, before using any herbal products during the confinement period, particularly while breastfeeding.

Certain herbs used in confinement preparations may not be suitable for individuals with specific health conditions or those on certain medications. Customers are responsible for seeking appropriate professional guidance before use.

10 Intellectual Property

All content on jensengtcm.com, including but not limited to the Jen Seng name and logo, product descriptions, blog content, images, and site design, is owned by or licensed to Jen Seng Medical Hall and is protected under applicable Singapore intellectual property laws.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or commercially use any content from our site without our prior written consent.

11 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Singapore law, Jen Seng Medical Hall shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use of our products or website, including any adverse reactions to herbal products arising from failure to review ingredients, consult a professional, or follow usage instructions.

Our total liability for any claim arising from a purchase shall not exceed the amount paid for that specific order.

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraudulent misrepresentation.

Third-Party Links

Our website may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or accuracy of any third-party sites linked from jensengtcm.com.

12 Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Singapore. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Singapore courts.

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force and effect.

13 Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time. Changes are posted with a revised effective date. Continued use of the website after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
